The project action is relevant to the overall purpose and objectives of the South Sinai Regional Development Programme, focused on activities preserving and supporting local economies, social - cultural and natural resources.
To contribute to human development in South Sinai improving the living conditions of local communities, through the safeguard of environmental and cultural resources of Bedouin communities.
The project action aims to sustain the socio-economic development of local communities in South Sinai, adopting a participatory approach to human development and an integrated perspective to promote income-generating activities for the benefit of the local communities and improve awareness, education, intercultural dialogue, communication and information tools to link local economies to national and international networks.
The action aims to promote community sustainable development through natural resources management, environmental education, organic agriculture, cultural heritage, traditional handicraft and Fair Trade.
This falls within the South Sinai Regional Development Programme (SSRDP) which aims is to contribute to the integrated development of the region through activities respectful of and consistent with the need to protect and preverve the sensitive and rich social, cultural and natural resources of South Sinai, particularly in the interest of the Bedouin population.
Ecology and environment awareness education involving students, promoting intercultural dialogue, exibitions and workshops are the related activities of the action.
